This 1,170-square-foot suite sold for a premium of more than $10,000, but it was still a great deal given the amount of space it contains, agent Julie Kinnear says. By her calculations, the 16-year-old unit is "almost double or at least a third bigger" than newer condominiums priced at $280,000.
Situated on the fourth floor of a luxury high-rise, the two-bedroom corner suite has a bright, open living room with floor-to-ceiling windows. There also is an equally bright sunroom, and a master bedroom with his and her closets and a five-piece en suite bathroom.
The previous owners improved the interior by adding laminate floors and remodelling the main bathroom and kitchen, which features a pantry, undercabinet lighting and white cabinetry.
The suite also comes with energy-efficient laundry appliances.
"It was in beautiful shape," Ms. Kinnear says of the unit's overall look. "It showed like a model suite."
A monthly fee of $654 covers utilities and the use of the recreational facilities, including an indoor pool, gym, and squash and racquetball courts.
The building has a 24-hour concierge and a catwalk to the Ramada hotel next door, where residents can park for $115 a month.
*The actual article in the Globe and Mail lists this property as Islington and Eglinton. It is a typo, the correct intersection is shown above.
