The Junction – Take-out Food Tips by Holly

To say things have changed in the restaurant world is an understatement! Thriving restaurants improve a neighbourhood immeasurably and this is part of what makes the Junction, Toronto so magical!

Some restaurants have chosen not to remain open at this time and that is understandable. However, there are a number of local restaurants that have adapted to the new reality and have made a giant shift in how they are doing business. I know that some great locations do not have an online presence, and you would only know about them, and what they're offering, if you walked by and saw a notice posted in their window. That was the inspiration for this list. My desire is to support my community and to be a resource for everyone in it.

The list compiled is probably missing some good spots, so if you have any suggestions, please let us know.

Let's support our local, independent restaurants however we can, so they can survive and we all can benefit.

Well, that's my long list. Again, please suggest restaurants I may have overlooked... What I've loved about putting this list together is knowing that there are so many restaurants that have adapted and are making a go of it! No doubt, as each one thinks of some innovative way to adapt, the others get inspired. Gives me hope.

Also, to protect those working hard to make sure you are well fed, please consider wearing a mask when you pick up your takeout. Well-know fashion designer Izzy Camillari (she made the suits Gord Downie wore in his last tour), whose studio is in the Junction, is making some pretty awesome masks, and making a charitable contribution at the same time.

I hope this list comes in handy! I'd love your feedback (no pun intended).

Bon appetit!
