Canada’s Pride Month 2017: Celebrating Toronto Dyke March

Canada's second Pride Month is an arts and culture festival that celebrates diverse sexual and gender identities, and the lives of Toronto's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, transgender, queer and questioning communities. Same as it was las year, Pride Month culminated with the annual Dyke March and Pride Parade, with a main theme of inclusivity.

Carrying on the tradition from the first Canadian gay Pride March in 1972, these events are demonstrations of power, strength, diversity, and passion, aiming to create political and visible space, where participants can reflect on history and honour the accomplishments.

Similarly to the last year, the Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also came to encourage the tolerance and acceptance:

It’s all about how we celebrate the multiple layers of identities that make Canada extraordinary and strong, and today we celebrate with the entire LGBTQ community.

"What a magic everywhere!"

"Stop policing our body, stop policing pride!"

A minute of silence for those who cannot be there

"It is all of us or none of us!"

"Celebrate! Demonstrate! Pride is political!"

"I teach with Pride!"
