Toronto Real Estate Newsletter November 2022 – Kinnear’s Komments

Vol. 30, Issue 3, November 2022

Julie's Scoop

Howdy!,

How great is this weather?! Sunshine really does make a big difference☀️ (along with last weekends amazing record-setting warmth!). It’s making the end of Fall and even the fall real estate market stick around. There’s some good energy out there.

Halloween is always a blast in Roncesvalles culminating in the favourite Sorauren Park pumpkin parade. I was thrilled to celebrate the tradition of Halloween with our visiting three nephews from Austria/Slovakia. It is not as popular there, so Constantin and his brothers have never carved a pumpkin nor trick-or-treated before. It was also the first time seeing them again since Covid, it’s been a long three years. What a blessing.

I hope you are enjoying the updated Kinnear‘s Komments newsletter as it includes a short video analysis that I personally record called Market Moment. There are definitely some interesting things going on in the Toronto real estate market and interesting numbers coming out the TRREB from October in the Market Watch. If you’re curious, or know someone thinking about buying or selling, check out the vid! Hope it is helpful.

As you can see by our latest spotlight here - our team is continuing to grow! Very exciting! I’ve known Emily Salter Reiart for a number of years now professionally and we used to mastermind together sharing best practices. We are all excited that Emily has joined the JKT.

The JKT also has its first big in person client event in a while this month. We hope you are just as excited as we are about our private screening of the classic movie Back to the Future. It’ll be a hoot on the big screen! Please sign up below. It will also be wonderful to see so many familiar faces IN PERSON. We will be collecting funds food for the Daily Bread food bank as well.

guiding you home™,
Julie

P.S. The most important thing to do if you are contemplating your options is to stay up to date and informed. Toronto is full of micro markets, and things are constantly changing.

We are here to help guide you or any of your friends and family to understand your specific needs to reach your housing or real estate investment goals. Thank you for your trust.

Feeling like Giving Back?

Feeling like Giving Back? An INSPIRING Cause to Donate to! Throughout the Pandemic, our team has doubled down on giving back to local charities that benefit from the $$ and exposure.

This month we chose Pathways to Education to donate to on your behalf. Julie recently attended the Pathways Grad Ball and was overwhelmed to hear from the staff/volunteer and students about how much Covid has negatively affected the participants financially, mentally and emotionally. The need is greater than ever. And yet, the graduates of the program are SO inspirational - appreciating the opportunities and support that they would not have had without the structure of this very successful program.

In low-income communities across Canada, high school dropout rates can be more than double the national average. At Pathways to Education, they don’t believe any young person should face those odds. Dropping out creates an achievement gap that lasts a lifetime, not to mention the cost to Canada’s economic, health, and justice systems is steep. Pathways helps break the cycle of poverty - and helps the students gain the skills and credentials needed to pursue further education and skilled professions.

If you are in the position to pay it forward, please donate to one of these worthy charities during this time. 💕

The Julie Kinnear Team's GEMs (Genuine Evidence of Merit)

A company's success is strongly impacted by the customer reviews and for those of us in real estate, Google reviews and Facebook reviews create the biggest impact. We are asking for your help to go online and add your input and we will happily donate to a charity of your choice for your efforts!

You can do it on Google Maps here (it's very very important that you write a comment as well in addition to the rating), or you can also leave the same review on JKT's Facebook page here by clicking on "Yes" next to the "Do you recommend the JKT?" It's true, 5* reviews are almost as precious as a referral nowadays!

The JKT - A few of our Favourite Things:

Holly

Jay

  • I look forward to one of my favourite things – returning to the City of Lights, Paris – and visiting the many museums. One of my favourites is the Musee D’Orsay, which houses many notable artists such as Renoir, Gauguin and other Impressionist painters. A former Beaux-Arts train station converted into a noteworthy art museum. I can’t wait for my next visit – hopefully soon!

Julie

  • Sorauren Park “Day after Halloween” - we’re the neighbourhood all brings their pumpkins for the parade! I arrived early this year which was fun as it gets super packed with rows and rows of pumpkins and people!

  • Kops Records - you can online shop their catalogue of vintage vinyl. And then they magically arrive on your doorstep. Def. one of the best shops in Toronto and offer free shipping Canada wide! Records are good value and in great condition. They respond quickly to any inquiries/changes etc. too. https://www.kopsrecords.ca/

Brenda

  • Enjoying time with the grandchildren who were visiting from Austria.

Emily

  • Cicchetto Liquori - pronounced Chi-keh-toe.
This delicious small batch liqueur is made by a friend of my brother and available at only select retailers and at the bar of another of my favourite things, the incomparable Osteria Giulia!
The liqueur comes in 3 flavours, limone (lemon), mandarino (orange) and not yet released Pompelmo (grapefruit). Fortunately I got a sneak preview and it's delicious!
I LOVE the Cicchetto Splash! Combine 2oz Cicchetto, 3oz Prosecco and 1oz soda for a perfect cocktail. Check them out at cicchetto.ca

Nelson

  • Exceeding the client’s expectations is a favourite thing of mine. But, collaborating with other small businesses to provide an extra special offering to our clients, is next level and what makes us stand out! Meet Off Cut & Co, founded and owned by Daniel (The Charcuterie Guy), offers a great assortment of charcuterie options for all dietary needs, from small to large parties/gatherings, work functions or just a small treat to show your appreciation. He also creates custom boards for those charcuterie enthusiasts!
