Update: Julie's health
In the last edition of Kinnear's Komments the news of my diagnosis of Hodgkins' Lymphoma elicited much support and kind words from many of you. Your loving response is much appreciated and treasured.
I am pleased to tell you that I am near the end of the chemotherapy treatments and the outlook is very good. The doctors at PMH feel I am right on track and the tests show the tumours are almost gone. I will start my four weeks of radiation treatments in the summer. By the time you receive the September issue I will be recovering from all the treatments and be in remission with the cancer.
Despite all my distractions, my mother and I have been very busy with our business during this active Spring market. Thank you for the referrals we received and worked with during this time. Even though I have done all of my work from my home office every now and again I donned my "realtor" outfits, pulled on a hat to hide what's left of my hair and sallied out to slay dragons for my clients.
I have been most fortunate to have the support on all levels from my mother and my good friend, Pat Bird, who have made it possible to continue to serve you with the level of service that is the hallmark of my business By Referral Only™.

Babies - Welcome
Emilie Nathalie Mercure Matheson - Born 7.5lb, on May 16/00. Nathalie & Michael are proud parents as is big brother Alexandre!
Academic Achievements!
Robert Chartrand - Julie's cousin in North Vancouver, BC - Won the Duke of Edinburgh award for all around achievement, academic, jazz band (trombone) and sports.
Kevin Reid graduated with his MBA from York University School of Business. Proud parents Margaret & Brian Reid & proud aunt Liz Smith.
Corby Petersen graduated with his BComm from Mount Allison University in New Brunswick. Brother Niels completed first year in Aeronautical Engineering at Ryerson & brother James graduates from high school at St.George's. Very proud mother is Susan Wood.
Runners Galore
I enjoyed watching Mary & Karen McCarthy, Jennifer Wright, Simon Giggs & Hanne Jakobsen-Giggs, Orysia Semotiuk, & Lorna Cuthbert, run & successfully finish the Ottawa Half Marathon on May 14/2000.
Pets Passed
Kathryn Kinnear's beloved Chocolate Lab, Ulysses, died while she was away travelling in May.
Carole Bellinger's dynamic cat, Sparkles, met his end in North Vancouver, BC in March.
Scott Ross' family Black Lab, Winston, who died in February is greatly missed by all.
All pet lovers can relate to the bond you shared, and your sadness.
Neighbourhood Corner The Kingsway
April was good to The Kingsway this year (from Bloor to Dundas and Montgomery to the Humber). On a total of 9 detached home sales, the average price was $624,511, up 18 per cent from the $530,882 recorded in April of 1999.
Also, there were five sales of condominium apartments in the area last month, averaging $344,000. Time-on-market for all recorded transactions was 43 days.
Toronto the Good
(or why you should have addresses and phone numbers in your cell phone directory!!)
One day, Brenda dropped our cell phone on the street in Bloor West Village. A good Samaritan picked it up and called the first name on the list Kathy Andrews - a friend and client.
Luckily she recognized all the Kinnear names in the directory and called to say the good Samaritan even dropped it off to her home!
