It's that time of year again!! The weather is getting colder, the leaves are about to turn orange, and the construction workers at Sassafraz in Yorkville are working overtime! It can only mean one thing...Its time for the Toronto International Film Fest, and according to www.tiff07.ca the countdown is on! Only 9 days left until the start of the festival that Variety magazine described as being "second only to Cannes in terms of high-profile pics, stars and market activity." All of us here at the Julie Kinnear team have been getting excited to try and see as many movies as we can! Keep checking out our website as we keep you up to date with the latest news and reviews from the fest! In the meantime, here is a summary of some of the information for the Film Fest.
The Festival runs from September 6-15 featuring 349 films from 55 countries, 85 per cent of which are world, international or North American premieres. The films show in a number of theatres all around Toronto, but the festival centers around the trendy Yorkville neighbourhood. The nine day festival is an excellent chance to see some of Hollywood's biggest stars, as over 500 international stars including Brad Pitt, Keira Knightley, Colin Farrell, Michael Caine, Charlize Theron and Michael Moore are expected to attend.
Tickets for all screenings go on sale Wednesday, September 5th, and tickets to special Gala presentations at Roy Thompson Hall went on sale Saturday August 25th.
